Rating System
Your review will be based on a 4-star grading scale, one star being “poor” and four stars being “excellent”. Note that some sites may receive no stars which means they did not earn a score. People who receive a no stars are encouraged to re-submit their websites after they’ve made the necessary improvements. The stars in the Truculent rating system were made using Adobe Photoshop’s star-shapes. Being adequate in one of the three key areas mentioned in the rubric will get you one star, being adequate in two will get you two stars, etc. If you go above and beyond you get the coveted four star rating.
No stars. This means your site is woefully inadequate and needs vast improvements in all three key areas: content, layout, and coding. Please submit for a re-review after a lot of changes have been made. Your website is a disaster.
Half star. This means you show a little promise in only one of the three key areas. Extreme improvements in all three areas must be made. Your website is poor.
One star. This means you show adequacy in one of the three key areas, but no promise in any of the others. This most probably means good content with lack of an aesthetically pleasing layout and proper coding (because good coding goes hand in hand with a pleasing layout, so chances are if you only meet one criterion, it’s content). Your website needs improvement.
One and a half stars. This means you show adequacy in one key area, and a little promise in another. This means your website has a lot of room to improve, but isn’t a total disaster. Your website is fair.
Two stars. This means you excel in two of the key areas, and need a lot of improvement in the third. Improving your coding standards is probably something you will be advised to do. Your site is average.
Two and a half stars. This means you are adequate in at least two areas, and only partially adequate in the third. Your website is above average.
Three stars. You show promise in all three key areas but have minor improvements that need to be made to go “above and beyond” and achieve a four star rating. This means you have minimal spelling errors, a presentable layout, and amusing content. Your website is good.
Three and a half stars. You excel in all three key areas but your website lacked a little “something” (that will be elaborated on by the reviewer). Your site is excellent and needs little, if any, improvements.
Four stars. This rating is rarely achieved. It means that you not only excel in all three key areas, but you go above and beyond. Your site is superior, and you have license to be arrogant.
